Food Rufus-sided Towhees feed on the ground and make leaves rustle loudly.

Migration During the summer the Towhee is all over the United States. In winter they reside north to Maryland, Nebraska, and southern British Columbia.

Habitat Thickets and busy woodland edges.
|
|
Nesting 4-6 red-brown spotted white eggs are laid in a loose nest of weed stems, grass, and bark on or near the ground in dense cover.
