Rose-breasted Grosbeak Pheucticus ludovicianus
Food They forage in trees to eat seeds and beetles.
Migration They form flocks in the winter, but the flocks break up in the spring for nesting.
Habitat Farm fields, pastures, and grassy woodland edges.
Nesting They build nests usually 5-15 feet above the ground. The nest is made of twigs and straw and lined with grass and rootlets. 4 greenish to bluish brown-speckled eggs are laid in the nest.
