Food Common Flickers feed upon the ground to eat ants and beetle larvae.
Migration Flickers are all over the United States and Canada. Most do not migrate but birds from northernmost Canada migrate south.
Habitat Open country with trees.
Nesting 6-8 eggs are placed in a telephone pole, tree cavity, or bird house.
